Seniors Read to Kindergarten Students! Memories Made!
I was able to catch our seniors reading to our kindergarten students! I hope these pictures warm your heart! I only wish you could have been there with me to catch the true spirit of the moment! Memories were definitely made for all involved! Thank you to our seniors for investing their time on campus with our younger students! What a blessing it is to be at a K-12 school like TPS!
More 2010 Thanksgiving Memories!
Memories from Thanksgiving 2010!
I wanted to take a moment and reflect on Thanksgiving Chapel and our First Grade Feast by sharing some pictures from these special events! Many thanks to all those that helped make these memories so special for all of us! I pray you have enjoyed a time of thanksgiving with family and friends! The pictures above are of John Hall and Logan Powell. John, one of our 8th graders, blessed us with his musical talents and abilities on the piano. Logan, our senior class president, spoke at chapel. Logan reminded us to be thankful for those things we can see as well as the things we cannot see! What a blessing it is for our lower school students to see our middle and upper school students using their gifts and talents to glorify God at their own school as well as in their community.

Giving Thanks! We are blessed at TPS!
Picture from the kindergarten visit to the pumpkin patch!
We are extremely thankful for Trinity School, the support of wonderful families, and the dedication of our faculty and staff. This will be a busy week as we prepare our hearts and minds for this season of giving thanks! It is our honor to teach in a school where that can be our focus this week. God has blessed us and we are grateful. Thursday, Nov. 18th, Lower School will worship together in chapel at 8:15 a.m. Logan Powell, Senior Class President here at Trinity, will share with us during this chapel. Please feel free to worship with us during this time if you are on campus. On Friday, Nov. 19th, our entire Lower School will enjoy a Thanksgiving lunch provided by Sage Dining during our regular lunch time! Our first graders will attend lunch that day dressed in their Native American and Pilgrim attire! Please note that the week of Nov. 22-26, we will be out of school for Thanksgiving. Please enjoy a blessed Thanksgiving week with your family.
Giving thanks,
Tami Shelley

Take Advantage of Interactive Learning Sites!
If you have not checked out our library/media center wiki lately, please take some time and do so! You will find a plethora of information concerning suggested reading lists for children, a myriad of interactive learning sites, as well as at home reading sites! The link is http//trinitywildcatroar.pbworks.com . It has been added to this bog for quick access. You may also access it, as well as any of our other teacher blogs, through our website. I encourage you to check out the wikis and blogs by teachers' names at our school. The easiest way to do this is to go to our homepage, go to the far upper left and click "about" then scroll down to "faculty/staff directory". If a teacher has a blog or wiki it is listed or linked to their picture. There is more information on these blogs/wikis than you can imagine! Please take advantage of it!
I have also added a link called Free Rice to this blog. This is an interactive vocabulary builder great for all ages, right up to adulthood. It is a non-profit website run by the UN World Food Program and partnered with Harvard University. The words used are based on high level standardized testing (ACT, SAT, GRE) and are in a multiple choice format. For each correct answer 10 grains of rice are donated to help end world hunger.
Reminders:
*Midterm reports go home Monday, Nov. 8th
*Thursday, Nov. 11th is Veteran's Day Holiday--no school!

Accreditation Visit and Other Great Things!
We had a great visit Oct. 5-7 with the Accreditation Team. Trinity is seeking dual accreditation from SAIS and SACS. This has been a reflective journey for the faculty, staff, and administration. This reflection leads to growth and improvement for our school. We are extremely proud to be a part of this type of accreditation process here at TPS.
Last week, our lower school students led by our Lower School Science Lab teacher, Mrs. Teresa Henderson, embarked on planting a vegetable garden! Mrs. Henderson was assisted by our Sage Dining Staff. The goal is for the students to plant, observe/chart growth, and then harvest the vegetables. Sage Dining has their own goal of using the "homegrown" vegetables at lunchtime for the students and faculty! We would like to thank Mrs. Henderson and Sage Dining for collaborating in this truly hands on learning experience!
Thank you to all those who attended parent-teacher conference day last Friday! Please keep that communication open with your child's classroom teacher all year! We are here to partner with you!

Welcome to the Trinity Lower School Blog!
What an exciting month of school this has been! Last Friday we celebrated a ribbon cutting and a groundbreaking here at TPS! The new middle/upper school media center is already in use by everyone! The lower school is sharing that space for the remainder of this year but is anxiously awaiting the new lower addition!
Please keep an eye on the "Quick Links to Learning" section of this blog. I will be adding to this list on a constant basis. Please feel free to share with me sites you find helpful as well.
Trinity is proud to be celebrating its 40th birthday this year! This week is Homecoming Week and we will be celebrating with all those that return home to visit our campus Friday for Homecoming Day! Students will be seated with their classrooms around 11:00 a.m. lining the front drive. Please come out and join the fun this week!
Please refer to the Homecoming Area on the Trinity WebSite: www.trinitywildcats.com for all homecoming information!
Have a blessed week!
